The IT Director will be part of the Senior Management team for Corporate IT organization. The IT Director will have responsibility and accountability for managing the DBA team that is responsible for all Oracle instances (Production and Development) as well the development team that provides support to the Oracle project implementation teams. The ideal candidate would be great team player, good communicator and experienced in leading Development / DBA teams in a consulting environment on Oracle projects as well have IT experience in providing production support to end users on a global basis. The IT Director would work closely with the IT leadership team that includes Functional Directors, Infrastructure Director, Business Unit IT as well as the Program Management Office. The candidate must have a passion to improve the end user experience by constantly reviewing the system capabilities and a stickler for details to ensure that Project Methodology is executed on a daily.
Responsibilities: • Understand business processes at a high level across Finance, HR, Payroll, Sales, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Plan to Manufacture and Pick, Pack & Ship, etc. This should also include the ability link these process along with database relationships as well as the support and architecture requirements. • Work with the Functional and Development teams in defining and designing technical solutions (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions and Extensions) to support the implementation on a global basis • Provide technical leadership to the Development team in ensuring that the technical solutions are designed efficiently and tested properly for production use • Provide leadership to the DBA group that provides implementation support and production support. The team performs on going database administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, installation, backup / recovery and data migration of Oracle databases running on IBM P5 / Linux servers in a multiple environments • Responsibility also includes providing the technical leadership for reporting standards • Establish standards, procedures and automation strategies for tools and monitoring • Work closely with PMO, Functional and Infrastructure teams to coordinate Oracle production releases on various instances (Development, Test, Pre-Prod, Training, etc) on a global basis for projects as well Production instance (Major releases and patch management of routine and major patches) • Prepared to share on call to support the various releases and production support Requirements: • Must have extensive experience in managing IT teams in implementation (preferably consulting) and supporting complex business processes for Oracle 11i. The business processes would include processes such as Global Finance, US Payroll, Sales, Order Management, Incentive Compensation, Pricing, Manufacturing, BOM, Inventory, Shipping, Export compliance, etc. • 12 – 16 years in progressively more responsible IT leadership positions leading technical development and DBA teams for implementation and support • Global implementation and support experience by providing support to end users globally as well as leveraging offshore to reduce cost and provide 24x7 coverage • Demonstrated ability to build and coach a highly motivated and productive team on a global basis • Ability to work closely on a daily basis with all levels of IT and Business organizations to develop strategies, prioritization and support of development projects and DBA support
Skills: • Oracle 8i , 9i, and 10g database administration experience • Oracle advanced features (RAC, Data Guard, Streams, replication, partitioning) • Monitoring experience with monitoring tools like STATSPACK or Quest Spotlight • PL/SQL and SQL tuning • Oracle RMAN and various backup/recovery methods • Oracle module experience to support business functions mentioned earlier • AIX 5.4 • Red Hat AS 4.0 • UNIX shell programming • JAVA, JDeveloper and J2EE knowledge • Apache knowledge • Oracle BI EE and DBI • Oracle EDI gateway and related third party tools will be a plus • F5 Big-IP and failover/failover knowledge |
