Our client is seeking a skilled shop floor analyst to join the global IT Production Support department, based in Ames, IA. In this role, you will solve a wide variety of technical problems and implement long range IT solutions.
Job Description:
You will be part of a team that implements new projects and supports shop floor systems for this international manufacturer.
Your role is critical to the achievement of the companys business goals of quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
• Address software application issues and related hardware issues
• Conduct technical review of changes to the environment prior to installation into the production environment
• Utilize incident tickets to ensure proper completion and documentation
• Communicate with plant management on system induced production incidents
• Interface with other team members as necessary to deliver customer requirements
Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelors degree in related field
• 3+ years of experience in discrete manufacturing environment supporting SAP, Microsoft .Net, Visual Basic, Oracle, SQL Server, Java based web applications, RSView, and infrastructure (Cisco, Unix, Windows, telecommunications)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Problem-solving skills and practical application of 8-D methods
• Proven technical ability in a complex manufacturing environment
• Experience installing and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and supplementary tools including Standard Work, Error-Proofing etc.
• High level of initiative is required
• Ability to travel as required
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP interface to shop floor systems, automated machining and assembly/testing systems, UNIX/Windows/DOS based systems, industrial printers, and barcode scanning equipment.
