Job Title:
Senior Manager, Digital Video Software Products Management

Job Description:
• Primary role is to manage Harmonic’s product line of Digital Video Network/Asset Management System and Quality of Service Monitoring System reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Video Product Management.

Primary Roles:
• Manage a group of 2-3 Product Marketing Managers
• Develop and drive the execution of Harmonic 3-5 years strategy for Software product line
o Including but not limited to:
1. -Network management system/Video On Demand
2. -Monitoring and Quality of Service
3. -Asset Management System
4. -Content Workflow (linear and non linear),
5. -Content Security
6. -Over The Air device Management
o Formulate strategies for new applications and markets based on core internal and 3rd party platforms
o Lead market research, TAM analysis, NPV/ROI analysis for new product launch
o Lead strategic and tactical product management of Harmonic Digital Video software product line
o Define product line and products messaging/positioning and value proposition
• Work with the Solution Marketing group to gather market feedback, identify gaps and define a streamlined Software solution portfolio meshing into core Harmonic architectures for IPTV, Cable, DBS, DVB-T, ATSC, Contribution, Primary Distribution and Mobile Solutions
• Create and maintain product roadmaps
• Drive the PLC process and ensure timely completion of the required milestones owned directly or indirectly by Product Marketing
• Drive execution of NPI programs with direct reports
• Work with sales/business development, engineering, QA, manufacturing, technical support, and operations during the entire life cycle of the products
• Manage and prioritize the product positioning strategy and sales guidelines
• Develop and implement pricing and product positioning strategy and sales guidelines
• Drive development and maintenance of product collaterals (product specifications, datasheet, application notes, white papers, sales and customer presentations and training materials)
• Create and maintain competitive product analysis, define competitive strategy to support sales to capture and/or increase market share
• Work continuously with direct reports, customers, partners, sales, business development, and other stakeholders to collect product requirements
• Manage Product Forecast. Works directly with sales operation and Manufacturing
• Internal and External product messaging/positioning presentations
• Sales and pre-sales support. Act as the de0facto point of contact for the group, for any technical, pricing, RFP response or marketing questions or enquires raised by sales and pre-sales personnel.

Required Job Skills:
• Domain experience- must have experience managing video technology products for post, broadcast, or service provider markets- or software.
• Leadership- must have lead a team of Product Managers/Marketers
• Medium company experience- must be adept at building product marketing infrastructure
• Proven track record or leading marketing activities for Network and/or Assets Management System Software based products, with a linear broadcast video and non-linear video technology focus
• Experience in one or more of the following
1. Network Management Systems, off line content ingestion, production and post-production. Billing and subscriber management systems
2. Linear/ non-linear workflow management, interactive TV
3. Video over IP and IP/data networking
4. Direct Broadcast Satellite, digital cable, broadcast and narrowcast networks, IPTV, contribution, primary distribution, video-on-demand architectures
• Working knowledge of SQL and some experience with industry standard databases like MS SQL, mySQL or ORACLE is preferred
• Versed with pertinent standards such as SMPTE, DVB, ISO/IEC, OpenCable, SCTE, etc.
• Excellent verbal and cross-functional communication skills are essential
• This position requires significant domestic and international travel
• Solid technical background and business acumen
• Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills, able to communicate on an ongoing basis and flawlessly with multiple parties, geographically collocated or distributed
• Management skills and experience in handling a complete, compound product line life cycle
• Experience in the local and international market
• Fast learner of complex technologies
• Development experience as well as system oriented vision
• Negotiation and Partner management experience required
• Excellent knowledge of the English language is required
• Self-Driven with strong work ethics

Required Experience:
• Minimum of five years
• Minimum of five years of life cycle product management experience with managerial dutes in the video, broadcast or telecom technology

Education:
• M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• MBA preferred
