Technical Experience:

• Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Excellent verbal and cross-functional communication skills are essential.

Demonstrate a broad understanding of major technical disciplines necessary for the end-to-end system design, implementation and testing of On-Demand video storage and delivery systems (VOD), IPTV/mobile video solutions, as well as traditional video encoding technologies.

These include, but are not limited to the current protocols, technologies and practices in the following areas:
• Solid experience with video on-demand system storage & delivery solutions such as Concurrent, Broadbus, Cisco/Arroyo, Kasenna, SeaChange, CCOR MediaHawk, Tandberg OpenStream, etc.
• Billing and subscriber management systems.
• IPTV & Mobile-based video solutions
• Strong IP networking background/MPEG over IP-
• Knowledge of MPEG-4 H.264/AVC a plus.
• Good DVB/MPEG-2 experience with emphasis on encoding/decoding
• Conditional access/DRM systems-
• Stays current with pertinent standards such as OpenCable, SCTE, ISA , NGOD etc

Job Description:

• Articulated, Self learning individual who is capable of working across multiple disciplines and products both internal and 3rd party. Research, devise, and recommend system solutions for key, strategic and complex accounts.
• Responsible for end-to-end system design and presentation of various video on-demand linear and non-linear delivery sub systems throughout the presales process.
• Perform cost and performance analyses of different system architectures, design specific systems for key accounts.
• Provide leadership in presenting Harmonic’s value-add when dealing with customers and suppliers.
• Enforcing the established pre-sales and system-design engineering processes.

Duties include:
• Working with various account management teams in applying new product/market solutions.
• Conducting customer Presentations, Workshops, Seminars to potential customers.
• Conducting Customer demos and training
• Responding to customer bids
• Producing (eco) system design, architecture and specification. Engage and be knowledgeable with 3rd party eco system vendors.
• Train and guide established pre-sales teams or Harmonic solutions
• Acquire market and commercial info form customers and feedback internally.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, Masters degree preferred.


This position requires significant domestic travel.
