Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description:
Embedded Software Engineer who will work independently and as part of a team to design, develop and maintain Harmonic’s next generation video/audio encoding and multiplexing platform. This junior level position will be responsible for adding features to our existing software architecture, add support software to help create a unit testing infrastructure using industry leading tools and standards as well as troubleshoot and resolve reported software problems. This role shall also involve working with the HW and FPGA teams in support of new custom board designs and adding application level device driver support. The successful candidate must have good communication skills, a willingness to learn and a great problem solving skills.
Qualifications
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 0 – 3 years of embedded software development experience.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and object orient design.
• Familiarity with real time operating systems is desired.
• Experience with audio/video compression standards and/or implementation is a plus.
• Experience in SW development for TI multimedia DSPs is a plus
• Embedded SW development, drivers and board bring up for custom hardware is a plus.
