Description:
This position is responsible for growing our client's new business and managing existing business relationships with non DoD Federal Agencies covering Airborne, Ground Based and Maritime applications. The individual will be responsible for all programs directly with the Federal Government.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for managing the Federal Sales department, including forecasting and tracking $30-50m in bookings annually.

1.Mentor and lead the members of the Federal Sales organization.
2.Responsible for identifying programs of interest for Federal law enforcement (airborne, ground and maritime) and presenting them for a pursue / no-pursue decision with senior management.
3.Act as the principal customer advocate to ensure that the user's requirements for new capabilities are transmitted to appropriate product managers. Once accepted for pursuit, responsible for developing capture strategies, making product recommendations and coordinating pursuit plans and activities.
4.Maintain consistent contact with the following Agencies as appropriate to ensure that they are fully aware of products and capabilities:
a.Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Branch
b.US Border Patrol
c.Drug Enforcement Agency
d.Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology
e.US Coast Guard
f.US Secret Service
g.Federal Bureau of Investigation
h.Central Intelligence Agency
i.Department of State
j.Defense Investigative Agency
k.US Marshall Service
5.Required to provide customer demonstrations and quotations in order to capture business.
6.Required to travel 50% of the time, providing support to major program pursuits. This may involve traveling to customer locations, corporate facilities or trade shows.

Experience

This position requires an intimate understanding of the various Federal Agencies who buy equipment. Candidate must be familiar with Federal Acquisition and Program Management processes, the missions of the various Federal Law Enforcement agencies and the Congressional Funding process for these programs. Must have experience in preparing proposals to the US Government. Alternatively, must have a familiarity with DoD programs, operations and acquisition with a keen understanding of what it takes to successfully market to the US Government. Must have the ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Must have the ability to function in an uncertain environment. Must serve as a liaison on specific projects between functional areas, management, and/or customers. Excellent written and oral presentation skills plus an ability to organize and plan divergent business activities. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate objectives and gain the cooperation of all internal resources. Strong understanding of the relevant technology and business areas. Ability to make, justify and promote sound business decisions and strategies.

A bachelor's degree is required. Technical aptitude is required.
